PHOENIX — HonorHealth said that the Maricopa County man who tested positive for the second case of coronavirus in Arizona is prompting further cooperation with the Maricopa County Department of Public Health and Arizona Department of Heath Services.

According to ABC 15, the man in his 20s was hospitalized at its Scottsdale Osborn location. As of Tuesday he was recovering at his home in Maricopa County.

A release sent by HonorHealth said the law required the hospital to “safeguard the privacy and confidentiality” of the patient.

It also said the hospital is working to follow “protocols in place to handle suspected or confirmed cases of the illness.”

No update was given on the status of the patient’s condition and no announcement was made regarding employees who may have been in contact with the patient.

A member of the Arizona State University community, Arizona’s first patient to contract the virus, was isolated for nearly a month, from late January to late February.

According to the Arizona Department of Health Services website, 34 people have been tested for COVID-19 with five cases pending, 1 confirmed positive, 27 negative and the HonorHealth case ruled a presumptive positive.

HonorHealth said that anyone who could have contracted the disease from the Maricopa man has already been contacted and if you have not been contacted “you are not at risk of contracting COVID-19 from this individual.”

We want to hear from you.
