Phoenix police briefly close street near school to check suspicious package

PHOENIX – Police briefly shut down part of a Phoenix street to investigate a report of a suspicious package.
Officers and a bomb squad went to 34th Avenue and Dunlap Road on Wednesday morning after receiving a call about something odd being on the street.
Cortez High School, a park and multiple apartment complexes are in the area.
Dunlap was closed in both directions from about 8:45 a.m. until shortly before 10 a.m.
