PHOENIX — A Valley man was arrested Monday after allegedly impersonating a doctor and sexually assaulting women, authorities said.

Gary Wayne Nash, 62, was arrested at his business, the Fountains of Youth Renewal Center, without incident, according to a press release.

Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone said during a press conference Tuesday that one patient paid Nash about $60,000 for his services.

“It appears as though [Nash] was charging in some cases $10,000 a day for services,” Penzone added.

Nash allegedly told his patients he was a licensed, trained practitioner in holistic, homeopathic and massage therapy.

However, inquiries with Arizona Statutory licensing agencies revealed that Nash had never applied nor had been credentialed to practice his purported medical specialties, according to the release.

From 2013 to 2020, several female victims claim Nash sexually assaulted them under the guise of executing unorthodox treatment methods, as documented in the release.

“The confidentiality and trust expected in a doctor/patient relationship was the tactic this criminal used to abuse victims in their vulnerable state,” Penzone said.

“This guise in portraying himself as a legitimate medical provider is a disturbing and disgusting predatory abuse.”

Nash faces more than 40 felony charges of sexual assault, medical practice without a license and fraudulent schemes/artifices.
