PHOENIX — Explore the world of science, technology, engineering, art and math through fun experiments, games, and demonstrations.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Avondale Civic Center Library will host its 7th annual SciTech Festival STEAM Fest.
STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art and math.
“We will have about 30 different booths with people from the community, businesses, and city staff from different departments,” Jesse Caufield with Avondale Public Library told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

Families can pick up a STEAM passport at the free family event and have it stamped during hands-on activities.
At the end they will be given a certificate for completing the event.
“We are really excited to have some special featured booths this year including Dino Crew who will be bringing some neat mechanical puppet dinosaurs and a fossil pit,” Caufield said. “We will have the Wildlife World Zoo, the Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary with some reptiles and we will be featuring Stratum Laser.”
Stratum Laser is expected to bring different equipment to show the engineering behind amusement park rides.
“The goal of the event is to help kids find another avenue to get them excited about STEAM,” Caufield said. “Also by featuring some of the members of our city staff community they can see how they could use STEAM in those jobs.”
