PHOENIX – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run in Phoenix early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The unidentified male, 32, was struck by a vehicle near 43rd Avenue and McDowell Road around 6:30 a.m., Phoenix Police Sgt. Maggie Cox told KTAR News 92.3 FM in an email.
Fire department first responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene, Cox said.
After initially fleeing the scene, the driver of the vehicle — 23-year-old Christepher Marion Crawford — called the police and reported his involvement, according to the email.
Crawford was then arrested following an interview with detectives.
The investigation remains ongoing.
