Welcome to our new Arizona Women page on KTAR.com!
…So, what do you want to talk about? Where should we go? Is there something in particular you want to know or do?
We know that Arizona Women are Busy, Smart, and Strong…but we all need plenty of friends we can turn to to help us out of a tough spot, for affirmation, to help us climb a mountain, to bounce an idea off of, or just to have fun with!
You know, there are all kinds of quotes about women, many of them printed on coffee cups and candles that you probably have sitting on a shelf, in a box at home or on your desk at the office. These days, a lot of them seem to have something to do with wine and little umbrellas in drinks.
Here are some others I found that made me think, nod in agreement and laugh out loud…see if you agree:
“A woman is like a teabag…you can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water” — Eleanor Roosevelt
“I like intelligent women. When you go out, it shouldn’t be a staring contest.” — Frank Sinatra
“The rarest thing in the world is a woman who is pleased with photographs of herself.” — Elizabeth Metcalf
“When women are depressed, they eat or go shopping. Men invade another country. It’s a whole different way of thinking.” — Elayne Boosler
“Smart women both BRING value and KNOW their value…and will not let it be trampled upon.” — Unknown
“Well behaved women seldom make history.” — Laurel Thatcher Ulrich
“I don’t know who invented high heels, but all women owe him a lot.”–Marilyn Monroe
(OK…on that last one, I waver between gratitude and a swift kick with a spike heel…usually after standing in them for hours on end.)
Arizona Women have careers, jobs, they want to look great, they are curious, they’re giving, they worry about their hair, and their weight.
They chase their children, love their spouse, take care of the dog, the household budget, bake cookies, fund-raise, want to take a fabulous trip, try to stay fit, eat right and take care of their health.
They like their homes to look nice, they like a cool car, they grow things, they nurture things….oh, did I mention they have career and jobs?
I hope you’ll check in often as we’re all in this together being a Busy, Smart, and Strong Arizona Woman!
