3 children injured in fiery Phoenix-area car crash

PHOENIX – Three children were injured, one seriously, in a fiery car crash Sunday that blocked off a Glendale intersection in both directions for hours.
A police spokesman said in an email that a car and a truck collided at Grand and Northern avenues. A woman driving the passenger car was heading northwest on Grand with a green light.
A man driving the truck going southeast on Grand turned left to get to 67th Avenue and slammed into the car. The woman’s car caught fire, but everyone inside was able to get out.
They were taken to a hospital.
Police tweeted out the accident around 8 p.m.
A teenager had the worst injuries. The other children, a preteen and a toddler, suffered minor injuries.
Neither the other driver or the a young passenger were hurt.
The road reopened around 3 a.m.
