What’s it like to be a firefighter?

When you’re the fire chief in a city the size of Phoenix, you have a lot of responsibilities and hundreds of firefighters that look to you for leadership.

But this time, the Chief goes back to his days as just one of the guys on a truck so that he can answer the question, “What’s it like to pull a dead child out of a swimming pool?”

Nobody ever wants to be faced with that but it happens all the time. Why? Are parents just careless or will children always be found floating in the water, no matter what we do? Phoenix firefighters are doing everything they can to prevent that from happening.
