Valley drivers to deal with restrictions on multiple freeways this weekend

PHOENIX — Weekend freeway restrictions will affect drivers on Interstate 17, Interstate 10 and other highways, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
In the North Valley, Interstate 17 will be closed at Pinnacle Peak Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for bridge construction.
Southbound I-17 will be closed at Pinnacle Peak Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday for the same bridge construction.
The northbound I-17 on-ramp at Deer Valley Road and southbound on-ramp at Happy Valley Road will also be closed during that time.
Pinnacle Peak Road will also be closed in both directions at I-17.
In west Phoenix, eastbound Interstate 10 will be closed between 67th and 43rd avenues from 10 p.m. Friday through 4 a.m. Monday.
Eastbound on-ramps at 75th, 79th and 83rd avenues will be closed as well, along with Loop 202 northbound ramps to I-10 eastbound.
“We’re putting some new striping on those section of I-10,” ADOT spokesman Tom Herrmann told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
“This is one of the final projects that we’re working on in connection to the Interchange with the southbound freeway.”

In the West Valley, bridge construction will also close I-10 eastbound at Fairway Drive, along with the eastbound on-ramps at Litchfield and Dysart Roads beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday and ending at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
From 10 p.m. on Saturday until 1 p.m. on Sunday, bridge construction will close I-10 westbound at Fairway Drive as well as the on-ramps at 107th Avenue and Avondale Blvd.
In central Phoenix, a pavement improvement project will likewise close Loop 202 eastbound Santan Freeway between I-10 and Loop 101 Price Freeway from 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. The construction will close all I-10 ramps to Loop 202 eastbound.
A widening project in the East Valley will also necessitate closures along the Loop 101 southbound Price Freeway between Warner Road and Loop 202 Santan Freeway from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
Also, U.S. 60 eastbound ramp to Loop 101 southbound is closed from 5 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday
In the West Valley, the installation of new traffic flow sensors will close the Loop 303 southbound at Peoria Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday until noon on Saturday.
Flow sensor installation will also close Loop 303 southbound between Grand Avenue and Bell Road from 10 p.m. on Saturday until noon on Sunday.
Northwest valley drivers will also be unable to use the westbound Northern Parkway ramp to Loop 303 southbound from 10 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. on Saturday.
Utility work that was scheduled to close down Loop 303 between I-17 and Lake Pleasant Parkway overnight Saturday was canceled.
