PHOENIX — A 1-year-old boy was in critical condition after being pulled from a Glendale pool on Monday, authorities said.

The child was missing for about five minutes at a residence near 67th Avenue and Camelback Road before being found by a family member, Glendale Fire Capt. Anthony Valverde told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

“One of the family members went out to the pool to check the pool and did find the child in there,” Valverde said.

The boy was transported to a local hospital for further care, Valverde said.

It was the second drowning in the Valley involving a small child on Monday.

A 1-year-old boy was pulled from a backyard swimming pool in Phoenix and remains in critical condition.
