PHOENIX — People protesting President Donald Trump marched to Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Wednesday evening ahead of the commander in chief’s first rally in Phoenix of the 2020 election season.

The protesters sang, banged on drums and chanted on their walk to the Coliseum, where Trump was scheduled to have a rally at 7 p.m.

“When I say ‘dump’ you say ‘Trump,'” a lady with a loudspeaker urged the protesters.

Others brought signs and wore clothes with specific messages.

One woman held a sign that read, “Arizona is the home of McCain not McSally.”

Republican U.S. Sen. Martha McSally spoke to the crowd at the Coliseum ahead of the rally.

DPS blocked the entrance to Interstate 10 at 19th Avenue because of the protesters.
