PHOENIX — Drivers on the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway this week should expect overnight lane closures, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
There will be stretches between 17th and 51st avenues from Tuesday through Thursday nights in which the two right lanes will be closed.
Each closure will occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
On Tuesday, the right two lanes of eastbound Loop 202 will be closed between 51 Avenue and Vee Quiva Way.
Wednesday will feature the closure of the right two lanes on eastbound Loop 202 between Vee Quiva Way and 17th Avenue.
On Thursday, the right two lanes of westbound Loop 202 will be closed between 17th and 51st avenues.
There will also be additional construction on the interchange at 32nd Street and the six-mile multi-use path between 40th Street and 17th Avenue, which are both expected to be completed this summer.
The 22-mile South Mountain Freeway — which completes the Loop 202 and Loop 101 freeway system in the Valley — provides a direct route between the East Valley and West Valley.
