The Weekly DownLloyd: Guns, Glendale and gross!
As the producer of Mac & Gaydos this is my own unique, weird, wacky and, at times, warped look at the weeks seven biggest stories.
A very special edition of the DownLloyd this week. Mac Watson of the Mac & Gaydos radio program joins me!
Want guns in most public places? An Arizona House bill could make that a reality. I’m cool with people being able to carry guns in the grocery store, pharmacy and smaller places of business. We don’t need the public walking around with guns in the sports stadiums during big games though. Alcohol and weapons just don’t make a good mix. Defend your house with a gun, go for it. At a game though I don’t see any reason anyone but the cops needs to be packing heat.
I won’t usually talk about a random purse snatching, one in Glendale caught my eye though. An elderly woman had her purse snatched outside of a Walmart. Sad, right? The story doesn’t stop there though. The value of “the good” has been assessed at between $5,000 and $5,500. Who has a purse that’s either that expensive or loaded with that much cash and thinks the best place to go would be Walmart? I feel bad for this lady, hopefully she gets her purse and money back, but next time go to the bank before hitting up the Walmart.
A few weeks ago Mac and Gaydos talked about the Waste Management Phoenix Open aiming to eliminate all waste. ASU’s hopping on that movement as well. The Sun Devils are working on becoming a zero-waste school. ASU wants to take 90% of their garbage and send it somewhere besides the landfill. I’m all for recycling, but trash is trash. Food has to be tossed out. I don’t see how they’re going to take that much filth and turn it into useful stuff but good for them if they can.
