The Weekly DownLloyd: 2014 Predictions
Jan 3, 2014, 7:00 PM | Updated: 7:00 pm
As the producer of Mac & Gaydos this is my own unique, weird, wacky and, at times, warped look at the weeks seven biggest stories.
I’m no Nostradamus but I’m happy to float some ideas out there for things you’ll see happen in 2014.
I don’t understand why we’re still doing so much around the house. It’s not like I expect things to look like the Jetsons where robots can do it all for us. Is it too much to ask though to have smart thermostats and have an app or two where we can put the garage down or lock the doors if we’re hundreds or thousands of miles away?
22 states are now hip with cannabis being legal in some form. I expect to see that number grow in the next year. I see no reason people with terminal illnesses and debilitating sickness can’t get some temporary relief. If Colorado can legalize it for anyone and everyone people who are sick deserve better.
I also think we can expect to see more doctors visits go bon voyage. Whether it’s due to technology improvements or not I think we’ll see more interaction with them done remotely and less and less in-person.
5. Sports predictions
I couldn’t find anyone put their reputation on the line with big sports predictions for 2014 so allow me to be the first.
I’ll take the Seattle Seahawks over the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
Pittsburgh over Chicago in the Stanley Cup.
Detroit over the L.A. Dodgers in the World Series.
And I think LeBron James and the Miami Heat will win a third straight title.
