Talk about overreacting. This guy went from zero to volcanic in the blink of an eye.

“If there was something that led up to this,” Phoenix Police Sgt. Jamie Rothschild said.

“We’re not aware of what it was.”

It happened at a convenience store at 51st Avenue and McDowell Road on Dec. 10, 2019, at about 2 a.m..

The suspect was standing just outside the door when the victim exited and apparently bumped the guy’s foot with the door.

“You can see on the video that he begins yelling and shoves the victim,” Rothschild said.

“And then the suspect runs to the car, comes back in with a gun, threatens to shoot the victim, then punches the man in the head before leaving the store.”

The suspect took off in a silver four-door sedan with a sun roof. It has a dent in the rear bumper on the driver’s side.

An arsonist appears to accidentally burn himself. The man cut through the chain link fence surrounding a car dealership on Buckeye Road near 10th Avenue. It was Jan. 5, 2020, at 7 a.m.

“He must have brought the items he needed because once he got into the lot, he went into five different vehicles and lit them on fire pretty quickly,” Rothschild said.

The suspect did a pretty good job of disguising himself in a hoodie, a mask and baggy clothing.

But he left with more than he bargained for – possibly a permanent scar – because his sleeve caught on fire.
