Movies in a Minute: ‘Heaven is for Real’

A 4-year-old boy has a near-death, out-of-body experience, and begins to tell his family stories of his time in heaven. He describes people from their family that he had never met or knew about, but met in the “after-life.” The father, a preacher in Nebraska, must find the courage to share his son’s story with the world.
With this plot, and the film being based off of a true story, you may think that this movie would come off as “preachy.” I was happy to see that it did not. I really liked the movie, and the young boy in the film stole the show. He reminded me of the young boy from “Jerry McGuire,” and was just as cute.
