Movies in a Minute: Philomena

Fifty years a go, Philomena got pregnant while in the convent.

Much to her dismay, the nuns forced her to give up her son for adoption. The son moved around with his new family and eventually Philomena loses track of where he was.

Jumping to the present day, she meets a reporter doing a human interest story and the two of them go on an adventure to find her son.

This movie is based on a true story and I loved it. I could watch Dame Judi Dench read a phone book and I think it’d be interesting but this film has real-life twists and turns. I really think this is one you’ll want to see.
