Faith in Humanity: Mom listens to donor son’s heart for first time

For Vicki Brannon, losing her son at a young age meant only being able to hold on to the memories of him.

Brannon’s son, Matthew McIntyre, was 14 when he died in an accident, the Huffington Post reported.

Although McIntyre was gone, his heart lived on through Jennifer Lentini, who received the organ at age 13.

After two decades, Lentini was able to get in contact with Brannon through Facebook and traveled from New York to Tampa, Florida to share the gift her son was able to give.

“I finally get to say thank you,” Lentini said in an interview with New York Daily News.

The meeting on Feb. 14 was not only significant due to Valentine’s Day — it was also National Donor Day.
