Fighting an illness is never an easy task.
Paying for the fight can be nearly impossible.
According to the Huffington Post, Stephanie Headley of Ottawa knows that fight and the cost. She was diagnosed with systemic scleroderma, an autoimmune disorder, that causes the vital organs and connective tissues to harden over time.
Headley and her family had tried to fundraise enough money for her to receive a life-saving stem cell treatment, but fell short.
She was beginning to worry she would miss milestones in her children’s lives until a strange man called and asked for her address. He said he wanted to make a donation.
He arrived in 10 minutes and handed her an envelope without saying a word. She told the station she gave him the thank-you and said “bless you,” finally getting a smile from him.
The man had written her a check. A big one.

Thanks to the donation, Headley is scheduled to begin the stem cell treatment Sept. 22.
