PHOENIX — Known better as the Red Rocker, rock musician Sammy Hagar and The Circle is speeding into the Valley later this year for a concert at Ak-Chin Pavilion.

The man who won’t drive 55 will be joined by Whitesnake and Night Ranger on Sept. 6.

Various presale chances occur on Tuesday and Wednesday before tickets go on sale for the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation.

Rock fans will remember Hagar, 72, from his days as the frontman of the iconic Van Halen from 1985 until 1996, and again from 2003 to 2005.

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the group in 2007.

His fairly new venture Sammy Hagar and the Circle released their first studio album in May after forming in 2014. It debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart and reached No. 1 on the platform’s top rock albums.

On his personal website, Hagar describes the album as, “not just a bunch of new songs grouped together on an album. They were sewn together conceptually for a complete mental, emotional and physical experience.”

The concert in Phoenix is part of a 30-city tour beginning in July and lasting through September.

The website also mentioned fans who attend the concerts are treated to a “musical journey through rock history” featuring songs from Hagar’s solo career, his time with Van Halen and beyond.

We want to hear from you.
