Waste Management Phoenix Open takes over TPC Scottsdale this week

PHOENIX – Welcome to Waste Management Phoenix Open week.
The Valley’s annual PGA Tour stop teed off Monday with the first of two free days at TPC Scottsdale.
The Coors Light Pro-Am was the main event for opening day.
Tuesday’s scheduled activities include practice rounds for PGA Tour pros, a trick shot show and a junior golf clinic.
At 11 a.m. Tuesday, Special Olympics athletes will participate with celebrities and business leaders in the San Tan Ford Special Olympics Putting Challenge.
On Wednesday, the first day with an admission fee, the celebrity-laden Annexus Pro-Am will take over the TPC Stadium Course starting at 8:30 a.m.
Olympic swimming star Michael Phelps headlines the star-studded pro-am field, which also includes current and former pro athletes Golden Tate, Reggie Bush, J.R. Smith, Shane Victorino and Josh Allen.

Wednesday also will be the first of four nights of entertainment at the Coors Light Birds Nest concert venue, with country artist Miranda Lambert taking the stage.
Rapper G Eazy and guests will perform Thursday, country superstar and Phoenix native Dierks Bentley is up Friday, and Norwegian DJ Kygo wraps up the series Saturday.
Tickets start at $75 for Lambert and G Eazy. The Bentley and Kygo shows are sold out except for VIP packages.
The amateur golfers make way for the pros Thursday, when the first round of the Phoenix Open tees off at 7:30 a.m.
Play continues with starting times of 7:30 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
General admission tickets for golf cost $45 for Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and $60 Friday and Saturday. Fans ages 15 and under are free with an adult.
Free parking with shuttle service is available from Lot H at at Loop 101 and Hayden Road each day. Lot W at WestWorld, at 94th Street and Bell Road, will provide free parking with shuttles starting Wednesday.
The pickup point for ride-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft has been moved to the WestWorld lot this year.
The Thunderbirds, the group that hosts the tournament, have raised more than $81 million for local charities since 2010, when Waste Management became the title sponsor.
The 2019 tournament brought in an event record $13.2 million.
