PHOENIX — A Phoenix man who allegedly exposed himself to minors and tried to grab them last year was arrested last week.

Court documents stated Steven Ramirez Cortez, 35, approached two girls, ages 9 and 10, on Sept. 20, 2019.

He allegedly asked one girl if her father was home and grabbed her shoulders, thighs and backside as she was trying to climb over a wall.

Cortez grabbed the other girl’s thigh and asked her where she lived and went to school, according to the documents.

He also allegedly took photos of both girls and exposed himself in front of them.

Cortez was identified as a suspect after a witness reported seeing him fondling himself in his car and gave police his license plate number.

Both girls identified Cortez from a lineup. He was arrested Jan. 24 on multiple counts of aggravated assault and one count of public sexual indecency.

Cortez’s bail was set at $150,000, and his next court appearance was scheduled for Friday.

We want to hear from you.
