PHOENIX – Movie lovers in metro Phoenix still have a chance to see most of the best picture nominees before the Academy Awards: Harkins Theatres’ yearly festival starts Friday.
The Scottsdale-based movie chain is selling all-access passes to see seven of the nine nominees
The chain will screen four of the seven movies, “1917,” “Ford v. Ferrari,” “JoJo Rabbit,” “Joker,” “Little Women,” “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood” and “Parasite,” per day on a rotating basis.
The other two nominees, “The Irishman” and “Marriage Story,” were released by streaming service Netflix.
Moviegoers can also buy tickets to each film separately.
Fans will be able to knock off some acting nominees with those movies, too.
Here are the participating Valley theaters:
- Arrowhead Fountains 18
- Camelview at Fashion Square
- Chandler Fashion 20
- Estrella Falls 16
- Scottsdale 101 14
- Shea 14
- Superstition Springs 25
- Tempe Marketplace 16
The festival ends Feb. 3; the 92nd Academy Awards will be held Feb. 9 in Los Angeles.
