The Loop: Idina Menzel, creepy John Travolta saved the Oscars
I’m going to be honest with you: I hate most award shows.
I don’t want to watch celebrities pat themselves on the back numerous times. I get it — being a successful artist is worth celebrating. But I don’t have to watch 7,000 galas honoring them. Just not my thing.
But I do watch the Oscars. It’s not because I care about who wins, but I really, really want to see the funny moment everyone will be talking about Monday.
This year, John Travolta was back in the spotlight. After he called Idina Menzel the wrong name (Adele Dazeem) last year, someone had the ingenious idea to pair them together to present an award.
It was good. Really good.
I also found a dad who probably shouldn’t have had kids. He’ll make you laugh.
