As a parent, what do you do when nobody shows up to your kid’s birthday party?

One Florida mom turned to Facebook with incredible results.

In celebration of her son Glenn’s sixth birthday, Ashlee Buratti invited his entire class of 16 children to the party.

Not one child showed up.

“From the minute he woke up that day he wanted to know how many minutes until his friends came,” Buratti said in an interview with the Osceola News-Gazette. “None of the kids’ parents RSVP’d, but I was still holding on to the hope that some of them would show up.”

Buratti posted the situation on a local Facebook group, saying she was heartbroken for her son, who has been diagnosed with a mild form of autism and epilepsy.

The community responded tenfold. After the post, 15 children from the area and their parents showed — along with firefighters and police officers.

They did not come empty-handed though — Glenn welcomed in his new year with plenty of gifts.
