BuzzFeed’s “9 Surprising Facts About The Oscars” video is awfully insightful for both award show fans and the haters, alike, who may be able to use some of the facts in the above video as ammunition against their counterparts.
“They don’t even get to keep the statues!” they could rightly allege. Yes, that’s true, as the video above shows.
There are more neutral facts. Peers nominate peers, for example. So actors nominate other actors, directors other directors, etc.
Maybe the haters will like this one: The first Academy Awards show lasted just 15 minutes.
