Freeway restrictions scattered across metro Phoenix this weekend
PHOENIX — Drivers across metro Phoenix will deal with scattered freeway restrictions this weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
In north Phoenix, southbound Interstate 17 will be closed at Pinnacle Peak Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday for bridge construction.
Northbound I-17 will also be closed for bridge construction at Pinnacle Peak Road from 10 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.
Pinnacle Peak Road will be closed in both directions at I-17 during the closures.
Northbound I-17 will also be narrowed to two lanes near Loop 101 and Rose Garden Lane from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday for construction.

In Surprise, the northbound Loop 303 will be closed between Grand Avenue and Bell Road from 10 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday for installation of traffic flow sensors as part of a freeway technology program.
The same closure will affect the southbound Loop 303 from 10 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday.
The new Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway will also be impacted by construction as crews install signs. The westbound on-ramp at 43rd Avenue will be closed Saturday from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. The two right lanes of westbound I-10 near 43rd Avenue will also be closed.
Additionally, the westbound South Mountain Freeway off-ramp at 67th Avenue and westbound I-10 access road will be closed from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and during the same hours Sunday.
In Tempe, both Loop 101 ramps to the westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday for Salt River Project overhead utility line work.
Intermittent closures of Loop 202 near McClintock Drive are also scheduled during that night.
Back in north Phoenix, the eastbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway on-ramp at 56th Street and eastbound off-ramp at 64th Street will be closed for 60 days starting at 9 p.m. Sunday reconstruction during an ongoing freeway widening project.
In the East Valley, the eastbound U.S. 60 will also be narrowed to two lanes from the Loop 101 Price Freeway to Crismon Road across Tempe and Mesa from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night from Sunday through Thursday for pavement improvement work.
Finally, the I-17 on- and off-ramps at Seventh Avenue south of downtown Phoenix will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a Valley Metro light rail project.
The I-17 frontage roads will also be restricted near Seventh Avenue.
