Curious bear cub plays with golf flag mid-game

Sep 14, 2014, 9:15 PM | Updated: Apr 24, 2015, 8:06 pm

Golf isn’t known for being the most exciting game, let alone a dangerous one, but two men playing on the Mountainside Golf Course at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort in Canada may have just changed that stereotype.

A baby bear that appears to be traveling with its family became intrigued by the flag on the green, stopping the guys’ game to check it out. What ensues is nothing short of adorable and impressive, as the man filming the video likens the bear’s behavior to a circus animal.

But unlike the circus, this bear had no training and no prompting other than classic curiosity, which makes the clip all the more entertaining.

The video, and the men’s round, ends when the bear picks up the nearby golf ball in its mouth and trots away, much to the delight of the man filming. The Vancouver Sun says the ball belonged to Pascal van Dijk, the president and CEO of Fairmont Hot Springs Resort.

In other words, van Dijk didn’t just get beat on his own course, but he was defeated by a very cute and curious opponent.
