Going to the aquarium is was always a great experience as a kid.
I was lucky enough to live near Monterey, Calif., and its legendary aquarium for a short time and I’m pretty sure I forced my parents to drop half of my college savings on admission.
Something about being in that eerie lighting watching these strange animals swim around is hypnotic for kids. Be honest, adults love it too (I still do).
But the aquarium gets even more fun when the animals interact. Sure, it’s fun to touch starfish or watch an octopus crawl around, but when a whale becomes a playmate, that’s a pretty cool moment.
Also, it’s a little scary. Let’s be honest, in the ocean, these kids become snacks.
