PHOENIX — A new music-themed bar is set to open in Phoenix this week.
Cock N’ Tails Restaurant and Lounge will begin operation 4 p.m. Friday at Seventh Street and Bethany Home Road, according to a press release.
Kurt Johnson, an Ahwatukee native and musician, owns the spot, which was formerly home to the Hatter and Hare and Joe’s Midnight Run.
“While I was in the studio recording I started thinking about the idea of opening a bar and how cool it would be to model that bar after what I was seeing and experiencing in the music scene,” Johnson said in the release.
“I wanted it to look and feel like being in the studio. That’s what I’m hoping people will take away from their experience at Cock N’ Tails.”
Donna Sites will serve as the bar’s executive chef. She has spent 10 years operating food and beverage at Kuber Hotels in Phoenix.
Cock N’ Tails menu items include the Bad-to-the-Bone Marrow appetizer, Garlic Bliss B-flat (flatbread pizza) and an apple torte with pistachio gelato.
The restaurant will be open Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to midnight and 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. It will be closed Mondays.
