Drone gives owner a front-row view of fireworks at their peak

Jul 4, 2014, 10:37 PM | Updated: Jul 6, 2014, 2:41 am

The combination of a personal-use drone and a GoPro camera can be a beautiful thing.

Jos Stiglingh posted a video to his YouTube channel in May of a drone that goes right into the middle of a fireworks show. Stiglingh wrote that the video was taken in West Palm Beach, Fla., and it wouldn’t have been possible without his DJI Phantom 2.

While the footage puts you front and center with fireworks like you’ve never seen them before, the most fascinating trait of the video might be how well the bursts serenely pair with Andrea Bocelli’s “Con te Partiro.”

Near the end of the clip, Stiglingh adds a nice touch by showing some of the fireworks exploding in reverse.

If you’re not able to make it to a Fourth of July celebration this weekend, this video might be a good consolation option.
