Photogenic California convict’s mugshot goes viral

A couple of years ago, one man became known as the “Ridiculously Photogenic Guy” after a photo of him running a 10k race in Charleston, S.C., went viral.
In the picture, Zeddie Little of New York is smiling straight into the camera, and he barely looks winded compared to the other runners around him.
And last year, a female inmate’s mugshot caught some attention on the Internet for the woman’s good looks — even though the photo was three years old before it went viral.
In the latest edition of the “photogenic” phenomenon, one man’s mugshot released Wednesday has given birth to the male version of the “Ridiculously Photogenic Convict.”
The Stockton (Calif.) Police Department posted a mugshot of 30-year-old Jeremy Meeks on the agency’s Facebook page, and the photo has been met with much acclaim.
The picture is quickly climbing to 30,000 “likes” on Facebook, and it has been shared more than 2,000 times. Impressive for an account that has 40,000 followers.
The department says Meeks is a convicted felon who was arrested for felony weapons charges leading up to his now-popular mugshot.
Whether he’s a dangerous criminal or not, it seems as if Facebook users commenting on the post don’t seem to be concerned.
Perhaps people aren’t used to seeing a mugshot where somebody doesn’t have disheveled hair or of someone that doesn’t look like they were just punched in the face prior to their photo.
