PHOENIX – Valley residents will have their chance to live in a Barbie world when the Barbie Truck Totally Throwback Tour goes for a ride to Scottsdale on Saturday.

Taking place at the Scottsdale Quarter from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the tour celebrates 60 years of children all over the world dressing up the plastic doll, making it talk, walk and doing whatever they please.

People can party with Barbie retro-inspired merchandise and check out the customizable airbrush station that will only be available in the truck.

The tour will visit 26 cities across 16 states throughout 2020.

If Barbie fans miss a chance to see the truck on Saturday, the tour will return to Arizona in November with a stop in Tucson (Nov. 7) and another in Gilbert (Nov. 14).

The girl that’s been living in a fantasy world continues to have a fantastic life, with Barbie sales reaching $1.09 billion in 2018, according to Statista.

In the past six decades, over 200 careers have been showcased by Barbie dolls, including occupations like astronaut, suregon, Olympic athlete, pilot, police officer, aerobics instructor and CEO.

The brand is part of Mattel, Inc. that also owns Hot Wheels and Fisher-Price items.

We want to hear from you.
