PHOENIX — Three Valley cities were ranked among the top 10 best places in the country for jobs, according to a personal finance website.
WalletHub ranked Scottsdale as No. 1, while Chandler was No. 6 and Tempe was No. 8.
The website evaluated 182 cities — the 150 most populated in the U.S. plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — across two dimensions: job market and socioeconomics.
Metrics included job opportunities, employment growth, monthly average starting salary, automation risk, median annual income and housing affordability.

Glendale, which was No. 31 overall, came in second for highest employment growth. Phoenix, No. 53 overall, came in at No. 4 for that metric.
Scottsdale, Chandler and Gilbert (No. 20 overall) tied first for highest median annual income.
Other Arizona cities on the list were Peoria (No. 35), Mesa (No. 55) and Tucson (No. 97).
South Burlington, Vermont, and San Francisco rounded out the top three.
Newark, New Jersey; Fayetteville, North Carolina; and Detroit made up the bottom three cities.
Scottsdale also took top honors in last year’s ranking and was recently named the best city in the country for working from home.
