PHOENIX — Pop rock band Matchbox Twenty is bringing its long list of hits to Phoenix later this year as part of its 2020 tour.
Frontman Rob Thomas and the group will perform at Ak-Chin Pavilion on Sept. 22 with The Wallflowers.
Presale tickets will be available starting Tuesday at 10 a.m., while the general public can begin buying Friday at noon.
“(The tour is) just about revisiting those old friends, maybe creating some new ones, and reconnecting with those people that have been around for the last 20 years as well,” Thomas said in a video the band posted to Twitter.

Matchbox Twenty was formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1995. The group has released four albums, its most recent “North” in 2012.
The band has been nominated four times for Grammy awards — twice for best rock vocal performance by a duo or group and twice for best rock album.
The group has gone on hiatus several times as its four members pursued side projects. Thomas has led a successful solo career, with his 2005 album ” … Something to Be” debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
He also won three Grammy awards for his collaboration with Santana on the song “Smooth” in 2000.
