Two men stabbed during Christmas tree burning near Fountain Hills

PHOENIX — Two men were taken to the hospital after both were stabbed near Fountain Hills on Sunday morning.
Original reports state a group was taking part in an annual Christmas tree burning event in the area of Bush Highway near the Sycamore Creek Trailhead when an altercation broke out.
According to Rural Metro Public Information Officer Shawn Gilleland, two men suffered stab wounds during the fight.
Both men were transported to a nearby trauma center. According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the individuals have non-life threatening injuries.
MCSO will lead the investigation, per Gilleland.
No other information was available as the investigation is ongoing.
