DPS troopers arrest wrong-way driver early Sunday morning in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A wrong-way driver was arrested early Sunday morning in Phoenix.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the wrong-way driver was stopped on Interstate 10 at 40th Street around 5:30 a.m.
DPS said it had received reports of a wrong-way vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes near Interstate 17 at milepost 195.
The wrong-way driver was arrested after troopers manged to locate and stop the vehicle.
Sunday morning’s incident marks the second wrong-way driver in the Valley in 2020.
On Jan. 4, A wrong-way driver was killed in a collision on the South Mountain Freeway. The driver of the other vehicle involved was not injured.
No other details were immediately available.
