Interstate 10 drivers in central Phoenix to face restrictions this weekend
PHOENIX — Drivers on Interstate 10 in central Phoenix will have a busy weekend of restrictions and closures, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Eastbound I-10 will be closed from the Interstate 17 stack interchange to the State Route 51/Loop 202 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for tunnel cleaning and maintenance.
Both I-17 ramps to eastbound I-10 at the stack will also be closed.
The next night, westbound I-10 will be closed from the I-17 split interchange near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to Seventh Avenue from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. for tunnel cleaning and maintenance.
The southbound SR 51 ramp to westbound I-10 will be closed during that time.
In Ahwatukee, the eastbound I-10 ramp to the westbound South Mountain Freeway will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Sunday for overhead sign installation.
In north Phoenix, the northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane near Happy Valley Road from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for a bridge project.
Over in Tempe, the southbound Loop 101 Price Freeway on-ramp at Guadalupe Road and southbound off-ramp at Elliot Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. on Feb. 27 for a widening project.
Finally, the eastbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be narrowed to three lanes from Cave Creek Road to SR 51 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a freeway widening project.
Seventh Street will also be closed in both directions at the Loop 101 during the same times.
The Pima Freeway and Seventh Street restrictions are also scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
