PHOENIX – Burger and frozen custard joint Shake Shack is getting ready to open its fifth metro Phoenix location.
The New York-based chain is set to open its doors Jan. 15 in Gilbert’s SanTan Village shopping center at 2024 E. Williams Field Road.
The first 100 customers in line when the doors open at 11 a.m. will take home a free Shake Shack State Forty Eight T-shirt.
The 3,100-square-foot Gilbert restaurant has an outdoor patio and was built with recycled and sustainable materials, according to a press release.
Shake Shack, which already has two Phoenix and two Scottsdale locations, bills itself as a “modern-day roadside burger stand” featuring all-natural Angus beef patties.
The food offerings also include a chicken sandwich, hot dogs and fries.
Of course, with a name like Shake Shack, there has to be dessert.
In addition to shakes, floats, cups and cones, each location serves up a tailored selection of frozen custard concretes.
Shake Shack also pours beer, including local brews, and wine.
The first Shake Shack was a kiosk in Madison Square Park in New York City that opened in 2004. Today, the company has more than 280 restaurants in the U.S. and more than 70 international locations.
