Two Avnet executives named among top IT leaders

Two Avnet executives were named among the best in their field by UBM Tech Channel’s “CRN” magazine.
President of Global Avnet Technology Solutions Phil Gallagher and President of Avnet Technology Solutions for the Americas Jeff Bawol were both recognized as 2013 Channel Chiefs for their work in accelerating the growth of Avnet and its partners.
The award was the third for Bawol, who had led Avnet to receiving international recognition for technology solutions.
“[Bawol] is a terrific asset to our organization, as well as a strong advocate for our partners and suppliers,” said Gallagher, who won the award for the first time.
Gallagher was named by “CRN” because of his work expanding both Avnet and its partners geographically by “capitalizing on technology growth markets and services.” He was also the part of multiple acquisitions that help Avnet’s customers support their respective customers.
“Being named a channel chief is well-deserved recognition of his ability to lead the global team in helping Avnet and our partners capitalize on high-growth market opportunities,” said Avnet Chief Executive Officer Rick Hamada. “[Gallagher’s] leadership is definitely an asset for the entire Avnet team and channel, including our suppliers, partners and employees.”
