Texas man missing for 12 days found alive in Grand Canyon

PHOENIX — A man who went missing for 12 days at the Grand Canyon has been found alive.
Martin Edward O’Connor was found Thursday along the New Hance Trail after hikers told park rangers they saw him there the previous afternoon, according to the National Park Service.
Authorities evacuated O’Connor from the inner canyon by helicopter around 10 a.m.
The 58-year-old of La Porte, Texas, was last seen Dec. 22 at the Yavapai Lodge on the South Rim.
O’Connor reportedly stayed at the lodge Dec. 17-22 and was believed to be traveling alone.
