Phoenix PD arrests man in suspected abuse death of 2-year-old boy

PHOENIX — A 36-year-old man was arrested in the suspected abuse death of a 2-year-old boy, the Phoenix Police Department said Tuesday.
Rickey R. Lockwood was arrested Monday on suspicion of the boy’s death. His relationship with the child is unclear.
Phoenix police officers responded to a call of a child not breathing near 15th Avenue and Union Hills Drive on Monday night around 5:15 p.m.
The child was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The Maricopa County Medical Examiners Office will determine the cause of death.
Lockwood is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 31 and is being held without bond at the Maricopa County Jail.
