PHOENIX – Holiday travelers and other drivers won’t have to worry about scheduled Valley freeway closures this weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
It’s been smooth sailing in the month of December, as ADOT has not scheduled a freeway closure for construction or maintenance projects in over a month.
In addition, drivers have a new freeway to traverse this weekend after the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway opened to traffic on Saturday.
The freeway travels between Interstate 10 at the Loop 202 Santan Freeway in the East Valley and I-10 at 59th Avenue in the West Valley, featuring three travel lanes and an HOV lane in each direction.
