PHOENIX – Two Arizona animal shelters are waiving pet adoptions ahead of the holidays.

The Arizona Humane Society and Arizona Animal Welfare League will be holding free pet adoptions this weekend for all dogs and cats.

The Arizona Humane Society’s “Winter Wonderland” event started Friday and will run through Saturday as they look to homes for 300 animals.

AHS’ main campus will host a larger event on Saturday with family photos, food, drinks, free pet ID tags and more. The main campus is located at 1521 W. Dobbins Road.

AHS’ other campuses include Sunnyslope (9226 N. 13th Avenue), PetSmart Scottsdale (4380 N. Miller Road) and PetSmart Mesa (1733 S. Stapley Drive). The Mesa location will only have cats and kittens available.

The AAWL’s “Home Fur the Holidays” event started Friday and will run through Sunday at its main shelter. Adoption fees are waived for all pets, including puppies and kittens.

The AAWL’s main shelter is located at 25 N. 40th Street in Phoenix.
