Wrong-way driver stopped at Interstate 17 off-ramp in Phoenix

PHOENIX – A wrong-way driver was stopped at a Phoenix freeway ramp early Wednesday morning, authorities said, before anyone was hurt.
A duty officer for the Arizona Department of Public Safety said in an email that the driver had gotten onto the Interstate 17 off-ramp at Indian School Road around 3 a.m.
The driver was taken into custody on suspicion of impairment.
No other details were immediately available.
In November, a man drove 12 miles in the wrong direction on Loop 101 from Scottsdale to Tempe. He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated DUI.
By mid-September, Arizona highway troopers had arrested 101 wrong-way DUI drivers on the year.
