PHOENIX — Three Arizona cities were ranked among the top 50 places to celebrate Christmas in the U.S., according to a personal finance website.

WalletHub ranked the country’s 100 most populated cities based on 33 indicators in five dimensions: observance, generosity, shopping, costs, and tradition/fun.

Those indicators included Christmas events per capita, share of Christian population, share of income donated to charity and restaurant meal costs.

Scottsdale came in at No. 36 overall, while Tucson and Phoenix fell just below at No. 39 and No. 42.

Other Arizona cities included were Gilbert (No. 66), Chandler (No. 71), Mesa (No. 78) and Glendale (No. 96).

Gilbert tied for first for most Christmas trees per capita. Tucson was ranked the city with the fifth-lowest average price of a Christmas party ticket.

Atlanta, Orlando and New York City were ranked the top three places to celebrate the holiday.

San Bernardino, California; North Las Vegas, Nevada; and Hialeah, Florida, made up the bottom three.
