PHOENIX — Two brothers have been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to the 2016 murder of a 21-year-old Glendale man.

Enrique Luna, 24, was sentenced to 23 years, while Israel Carrasco, 22, was sentenced to 17, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office announced Monday.

Luna, Carrasco and a third suspect who is still at large went to Christopher Cummings’ apartment in January 2016 to rob him.

The third suspect held two adults and a baby at gunpoint while Luna and Carrasco went into Cummings’ bedroom and fatally shot him.

The case went unsolved for almost a year, until a defendant in a separate case provided law enforcement with the murder weapon.

The evidence led to Luna and Carrasco’s arrest in 2017. They pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in October 2019.

Anyone with information related to the third suspect was asked to call Glendale Police at 623-930-3000 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
