PHOENIX – Police are looking for a man accused of sexually assaulting an Arizona State University student at a residential hall in Tempe early Monday morning after meeting her online.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male who is 40-45 years old.
ASU police said the suspect is thought to have gained the victim’s trust by lying about his age and/or identity on a social media platform before she agreed to meet him.
The man allegedly became physically aggressive before sexually assaulting the student, police said.
The woman reported the crime at 3:40 p.m. Monday.
No other information was immediately available.
Authorities said they want students to be alert to criminals using social media to target potential victims.
