Phoenix police looking for driver who hit, killed 51-year-old woman

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is searching for a driver who struck and killed a 51-year-old woman on Saturday evening.

The woman was crossing Broadway Road near 20th Street at about 8 p.m. when a westbound vehicle hit her and fled, Detective Luis Samudio said in an email.

The woman was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later died there. It was unknown whether the woman was impaired, Samudio added.

Police do not have a description of the vehicle or driver.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Phoenix police at 602-262-6141 or Silent Witness at 480-948-6377.
