PHOENIX — Tickets are set to go on sale for the Broadway adaptation of one of the most popular animated movies in history that is coming to ASU Gammage next summer.
Fans can purchase single tickets for “The Lion King” through official retail outlets beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday.
Tickets can be purchased through Gammage’s website, the official “Lion King” website and Ticketmaster. They can also be purchased at Gammage’s box office in Tempe.
The show, part of Gammage’s 2019-20 Broadway season, will be in Tempe starting June 17 and run until July 12.
The four-week run will feature 32 total shows spread across all days except Mondays.
The Broadway show features Elton John and Tim Rice’s songs from “The Lion King” animated film along with three new songs by John and Rice, according to a press release.
“The Lion King” has been performed on Broadway since 1997 and has been seen by more than 100 million people, the release added.
The production’s worldwide gross exceeds that of any film, Broadway show or other entertainment title in box office history, the release said.
